Honor Your Special Educator with a 2017 Woburn’s Awesome Teacher Tribute!

Before you know it, school will be out for the summer!  Now is the perfect time to honor and thank your special teacher with a Woburn’s Awesome Teacher Tribute.  This campaign supports Woburn Community Educational Foundation’s Educator Grant Program, which has awarded more than $45,000 directly to Woburn Educators in just three years. A tribute to your awesome Woburn teacher not says “You make a difference”, but also makes a big impact on learning for today’s students!

Any member of the community is encouraged to honor of any current or former educator in the Woburn Public Schools.  Personalized tribute awards will be delivered personally by members of the WCEF board along with your tribute message.  The amount of your contribution is completely confidential.

To participate, simply complete a 2017 WATT Donation Form and mail to WCEF as per the instructions.  Forms can be downloaded and tribute donations made directly via the WCEF website at https://woburnedfoundation.org/fundraising/teacher-tribute/.

Kelley Tuthill to Keynote our 2016 Women’s Forum!

We are so excited to announce that Kelley Tuthill has graciously agreed to serve as keynote speaker at our 2016 Women’s Forum & Purse Raffle!  This much-anticipated event features a delicious brunch buffet and fabulous raffle of high-end and designer purses.  All proceeds benefit WCEF’s Educator Grants program, which has funded almost $30,000 in new classroom projects and programs since 2014.

Kelley Tuthill serves as the university’s first vice president of Public Relations and Communications. She came to Regis after serving 18 years as a reporter and anchor at WCVB-TV, the ABC affiliate in Boston. She covered the Boston Marathon bombing and led the station’s Emmy Award-winning coverage of the trial, which also won three National Headliner Awards. She scored a national exclusive when a law enforcement source gave her the first photo of fugitive mobster James “Whitey” Bulger after his 2011 arrest. Tuthill led the team that won the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association’s “Best Use of Digital Media” award for multi-platform coverage of the Bulger trial in 2014. Tuthill also reported on the historic 2004 Red Sox World Series Championship run and the Patriots first Super Bowl victory.

A breast cancer survivor, Tuthill poignantly shared her journey with Channel 5 viewers and on-line users. Her series resulted in multiple national Gracie Awards and a regional Emmy. She is the co-author of You Can Do This! Surviving Breast Cancer Without Losing Your Sanity or Your Style.

Tuthill has been recognized as a “Hero Among Us” by the Boston Celtics, a “40 Under 40” by the Boston Business Journal and featured in the book Boston: Inspirational Women for her work on behalf of local and national breast cancer organizations.
